Project Highlights

Carol and John McKinnon purchased their co-op in an historic building on East Lakeshore drive two years ago and hired renowned Chicago architect Marvin Herman & Associates to create their living space.

Mr. Herman collaborated with longtime associate Cornel Podea at Precision Custom Audio-Video in Chicago and together they designed an electronic infrastructure that puts a 47” recessed plasma display over the fireplace in the livingroom, and a 40” recessed plasma display over the fireplace in the in the bedroom.

Knowing that the McKinnnons the monitors to be invisible when they weren’t in use, Podea and Herman specified VisionArt for both fireplaces.

The McKinnons, after a long and thorough search for the just the right artwork, selected two paintings created in the 1880’s by the American landscape artist George Inness for these custom VisionArt units.

VisionArt Art Director Ren Wicks had these beautiful images replicated and formatted by Europe artists, creating custom VisionArt units that no only blend in with the McKinnon’s decor, but create the artistic focal point for each room.
